Career History
Senior UX Designer, Education
Cambridge University Press and Assessment, UK. 2020-Present
UX & UI Design, User Research & Testing, Line Management.
I'm currently a Senior UX Designer and line manager in the Education team at CUPA. Since my promotion in 2022, my primary focus has been leading the UX strategy for our digital formative assessment offering. Our formative assessment product makes digital assessments easier for both teachers and students and aims to help integrate the assessment and learning journey. I have tested this product through remote interviews, surveys and diary studies as well as visiting schools in the UAE, Malaysia and USA to obtain valuable qualitative data from our customers.
Previously, I was the lead for Cambridge GO, our single access point for teachers and learners.  I remotely conducted user interviews and tests with teachers worldwide to guarantee value was being delivered to our customers. I was also the co-lead on our School's Design System project for a time and helped to kick it off and generate company buy-in before we were able to fully resource the project.
Design Lead, Marketing
Epos Now, UK. 2019-20.
UI & UX Design, Branding & Marketing Graphics
I spent 9 months at Epos Now as their lead designer in the marketing team. I created new style guides and worked closely with the head of design on the website redesign. Part of my role included creating graphics for promotions and as soon as I took this over they saw their best sales performance on record by 10%. The following month the UK hit 154% and the US hit 178% of their sales targets. This was completely unheard of in the company history and almost every month after saw continued growth.
Graphic Designer
Design:Davey, Australia. 2018.
Print Design, UI & UX Design.
Design:Davey are a Sydney based print and digital agency. I was brought in to help them grow their digital knowledge whilst also increasing my knowledge of print. I worked on a large website redesign for an investment management group from both a UX & UI perspective and also created a variety of print work for both national and state government. Either side of my time here I was travelling around Australia, New Zealand, Thailand & Vietnam.
Middleweight Visual Designer
Aviva, UK. 2015-18.
UI Design.
In 2015 I started an internship with the UK’s largest insurance company, Aviva and after three months I was offered a permanent position as a junior designer. After 18 further months of hard work, I was promoted to middleweight. All of the projects I worked on here were digital, including:
- The Aviva Digital Design Hub, an extensive digital style guide website and Sketch document;
- Co-leading the Aviva Business Website Redesign;
- Continuous improvement of the UK, Broker and Aviva Community Fund websites and associated apps.
